I am proud to be a Certified Third Degree Usui Reiki Master, bringing a holistic approach to every walk and sitting visit. Animals are incredibly sensitive to energy, and the fast pace of modern life — or the stress of an owner being away — can leave them anxious.

Integrating Reiki principles into my care allows me to project a grounding, peaceful energy that pets naturally gravitate toward. My goal is to return your pet to you happier, calmer and emotionally balanced.

Flexible with timings of visits whether it's a lunch time walk while I'm at work or away for the whole day for a family wedding. My 2 dogs have very different walking styles and one can be dog reactive at times. Derek did an initial visit to meet the dogs and learn all about them, which was very reassuring. I felt very confident that he understood their needs and would be able to manage them in a caring and competent manner. Both dogs were very pleased to see him each morning for their walks and he sent photos and videos showing the great time they were having. Do you offer a meet and greet before dog walking starts?

Yes. I offer a free 30-minute, no-obligation meet and greet so we can discuss your dog’s routine, behaviour, preferences and care needs before their first walk.

Is K9 Time owner operated?

Yes. I’m Derek, the owner of K9 Time, and I personally provide the care. Your dog will not be passed between rotating staff, gig workers or mixed walking groups.

How much do you charge?

£26 for a full 1-hour solo walk and £20 for a 30-minute solo walk. Because I exclusively offer one-to-one walks rather than mixed pack walks, your dog gets my undivided attention, a tailored pace and a calmer experience.

Do you offer group dog walking?

No, I exclusively offer solo, one-to-one dog walks. I never walk mixed packs of unfamiliar dogs. If you have multiple dogs in your family, I can walk up to three dogs from the same household together.

Which areas of Sheffield do you cover?

South West Sheffield, specifically postcodes S7, S8, S10, S11 and S17. Main areas include Ecclesall, Fulwood, Dore, Millhouses, Totley and the surrounding neighbourhoods. I don’t cover Walkley or Crookes.

Are you insured and DBS checked?

Yes — fully insured, DBS (police) checked and trained in canine first aid. With over 25 years of dog care experience, I’m also a registered member of NarpsUK (National Association of Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers).

How will I know how my dog’s walk went?

I provide full transparency using a free mobile app. After every walk you’ll receive a GPS-tracked route map, a detailed walk report, and photos and videos of your dog having a great time.

My dog is reactive and anxious. Can you help?

Yes, I specialise in caring for reactive and anxious dogs. Because I only offer solo walks, your dog won’t be overwhelmed by a pack. As a Certified Third Degree Master Practitioner in the Usui system of Reiki, I use a holistic, calming approach to help nervous and rescue dogs settle.
