EXCELLENT Based on 26 reviews Posted on Google Nick AddisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Derek has looked after our dog for us a couple of times now and he is our go-to person for walking, feeding and company for Scooby. He can always be relied on to arrive at the scheduled times, sending photos, videos and short notes every time which have been a huge comfort while we have been away. Highly recommended

Thank you Nick for taking the time to write a review about my dog walking services - I appreciate it. Scooby is a truly unique dog with a unique and endearing personality. I'm constantly amazed by how he negotiates life with such joy and enthusiasm and a love of all people and dogs. Then when you take into account that he's deaf - you realise that he truly has a wonderful indomitable spirit and serves as an example to we mere humans as to how to enjoy life in the face of adversity. Oh and I almost forgot to say that I noticed whilst on my walks with him that he has another ability - to make people smile! Who wouldn't love a dog like Scooby!?Posted on Google Maddy MacdonaldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Theo, our lively cavapoo loves Derek! We have never had a dog walker before and didn't want Theo to be 'just one of many' on walks with multiple dogs. Derek came to meet Theo first at home which was great and helped us feel more confident. He is always very responsive and has helped us out last minute at times. The K9 app works really well for booking and reports on the walks too. Cannot recommend highly enough

Thank you Maddy for your appreciation of my dog walking service and in particular caring for Theo, your gorgeous Cavapoo. You could say Theo is a great crowd pleaser when I take him for our walks in the Botanical Gardens. It's wonderful to see peoples' faces light up with broad smiles when they see Theo coming towards them - such is his remarkable presence and his joie de vivre - so infectious! I have no doubt that much of his joy stems from the way you and Mike have treated him since you became his proud pet parents! For my part I just adore him and always look forward to our walks together.Posted on Google Grace QuantTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Derek is so kind and caring and really takes his time with my nervous dog. I would highly recommend his service
Owner's reply
Thank you Grace. I hadn't looked after a Shih-Poo before although I had cared for one of your neighbour's Cavapoos-Theo. Bella was a little bit shy on our first meeting though she quickly responded to my massages everytime I arrived to take her for a walk to the Botanical Gardens. I love that she always seems to know its me entering your home and just lies there on her back waiting for my cuddles. I really look forward to going on walks with her and letting her sniff her way round the Botanical Gardens. The fact that Bella is so loving and affectionate is a tribute to the way you and your partner love and care for her and I am delighted and feel very proud that you have chosen me to look after her.Posted on Google Jennifer HendersonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Derek has walked both my rescue dogs, the most recent arriving just over a week ago. He's been invaluable in helping my new little one settle in with gentle walkies and kindness - even dealing with house training accidents.
Owner's reply
Thank you Jennifer. Of course I'm delighted Josh loves me especially since the feeling is mutual. Bearing in mind his background it's truly remarkable that Josh can love. Josh personifies the old adage that love conquers all and I feel sure that the love you have given him has enabled Josh to become the adorable and loving Cocker Spaniel he now is. Josh is a joy to walk and always gives me such a warm welcome with his twirls and fetching me his toy - a truly amazing and loving dog.Posted on Google Anne DargueTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Derek is reliable and trustworthy . Easy to book and pay online. Takes great care of our dog both with cuddles, walks, feeding and toileting. Flexible with timings of visits whether it's a lunch time walk while I'm at work or away for the whole day for a family wedding. Our dog loves his time with Derek and we can relax knowing he's in safe hands. One on one care from Derek since he's been a puppy. Derek takes and shares many great photos and videos so I can see how happy my pooch is while I'm not around. Derek is very experienced - would recommend for any age of dog.

Thank you so much Anne for trusting me to look after Ridley. I had never met a Miniature Labradoodle before and was excited to meet him. I was absolutely bowled over by his cuter than cute appearance and endearing behaviour. Of course as well as being sooo cute he's a wonderful guard dog. When I open your front door he immediately goes on guard growling and barking until he sees me then suddenly his barking stops and all he wants is love - lots of it! I find it difficult to resist taking lots of pictures and videos of him at home and as we walk through the nearby woods. And of course should we met anyone on our walk they fall in love with Ridley immediately. I always find you a pleasure to deal with and look forward to going on many more walks with the ridiculously handsome Ridley!Posted on Google JacTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 100% reliable. My doodle is visibly excited as soon as Derek arrives. Even if I am at home, my dog happily trots off for his walk with Derek. He’s also a fountain of knowledge and ideas. Would highly recommend.
Owner's reply
Thank you Jacqui. I can't tell you how much I look forward to going on walks with Bolt, your loving and always smiling Goldendoodle. Bolt is a peculiar dog in the nicest possible way. For instance he's the only dog I walk that bears his teeth at me when I arrive to take him out. I quickly realised that unlike other dogs that bear their teeth aggressively Bolt was mimicking me smiling at him because I am always so pleased to see him. Then after smiling at me he promptly lies on his back on your pouffe for his 5 minute massage before we set of on another quest to find people and dogs - such is his insatiable appetite for making new friends. Should a car pull up Bolt is always there waiting to greet the occupants as they get out of the car! Bolt's owner, Jacqui is a joy to deal with and as you'd expect has a great sense of humour just like Bolt!Posted on Google Jan WrightTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent service from Derek. We got regular updates and lovely videos of our cat Minnie. Derek is caring and spends time fussing over Minnie who clearly loved it! Highly recommend.
Owner's reply
Thank you Jan for your kind words. Minnie is a really affectionate and beautiful cat and after I've fed and watered her and cleaned her litter I like nothing better than to invite her to lie on my chest and stroke her. Judging by her contented purrs she really appreciates this and I'm pleased that I can bring her some comfort whilst you're on holiday.Posted on Google Erica BradleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you Anka for trusting me to take Alma for walks. It's a real pleasure walking Alma. She is such a sweet natured Cocker Spaniel. And I always look forward to receiving a warm welcome from her when I arrive to take her for her walk.Posted on Google Helen TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Derek provides an excellent, caring service and clearly loves animals. My 2 dogs have very different walking styles and one can be dog reactive at times. Derek did an initial visit to meet the dogs and learn all about them, which was very reassuring. I felt very confident that he understood their needs and would be able to manage them in a caring and competent manner. Both dogs were very pleased to see him each morning for their walks and he sent photos and videos showing the great time they were having. I can certainly recommend him to anyone needing help with their pets!

If you are looking for a cat sitter Endcliffe or a professional pet sitter in Sheffield, I am Derek Collinson, owner of K9 Time. As an experienced pet sitter, I provide calm, expert in-home cat sitting visits right here in S11. Rather than sending your cat to an unfamiliar cattery, I visit your home so your cat stays relaxed in the surroundings they already know and trust.
I bring more than 40 years of cat care experience to every visit. As a loving cat sitter and Usui Reiki Master, I bring a naturally calm and grounding energy that cats, particularly anxious or shy ones, respond to well.
My cat sitting service covers Endcliffe and the wider S11 area. This cat sitting service is dedicated to providing personal, one-on-one attention as one of the local cat sitters. Every visit includes feeding, fresh water, litter tray care, playtime, and cuddles. I also offer a free 30-minute meet and greet before any visits begin, so your cat can get to know me on their own terms.
Whether you are heading away for a weekend, a holiday, or just need regular daily support, my cat care visits are designed to keep your cat comfortable and your mind at ease.
Why In-Home Cat Care Works Better For Many Cats In Endcliffe
A Feline-Friendly Alternative To A Cattery
Most cats are territorial creatures. Taking them out of their home and placing them in a cattery surrounded by unfamiliar cats, sounds, and smells can cause real stress. In-home cat sitting is a feline-friendly alternative to a cattery because your cat never has to leave.
There is no carrier, no car journey, and no sharing space with other animals. I come to your home in Endcliffe, carry out each visit quietly, and leave your cat settled in their own territory.
Why Familiar Surroundings Help Cats Stay Calm
Cats rely on routine and scent to feel secure. Their favourite sleeping spots, the sound of the boiler clicking on, even the texture of the carpet all contribute to their sense of safety. Cat boarding removes every one of those anchors.
When I provide professional cat sitting in your home, your cat keeps all of those comforts. They eat from their own bowl, sleep in their preferred spot, and follow the same daily pattern they are used to.
How I Meet Your Cat On Their Own Terms
Every cat is different. Some will greet me at the door. Others will watch from behind the sofa for the first few visits. I never force interaction.
During the free meet and greet, I sit quietly and let your cat approach when they are ready. This first meeting helps me learn their personality, favourite hiding places, and what kind of attention they enjoy. It also lets me meet your cat before any visits start, so there are no surprises for either of us.
Cat Sitting Visits And Prices With K9 Time
What Is Included In Every Visit
Every cat sitting visit includes feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning and replenishing, playtime, and plenty of fuss and attention. I also send photo and video updates through the free K9 Time app after each visit, so you always know how your cat is doing.
Beyond cat care, I can help with small practical tasks like watering plants, collecting post, and taking out rubbish. As your pet sitter, I ensure these extras help keep your home looking lived-in while you are away.
15-Minute And 30-Minute Visit Options
As an experienced pet sitter and catsitter, I offer two visit lengths to suit your cat’s needs:
Visit Length | Price |
|---|---|
15 minutes | £14 |
30 minutes | £20 |
A 15-minute visit works well for independent cats who simply need feeding, fresh water, and a quick check-in. The 30-minute visit gives more time for playtime, grooming, cuddles, and a thorough litter tray clean. Choosing a local cat sitter ensures your pet receives the highest level of care.
If you would like to discuss which option suits your cat best, you can book a free 30-minute meet and greet with me. There is no obligation, and it is the easiest way to see whether K9 Time is the right fit for your cat in Endcliffe.
When Two Visits Per Day Make Sense
I typically recommend two visits per day for most cats while their owner is away. My cat sitting service keeps feeding times consistent and ensures your cat gets regular company and attention.
Two daily visits also mean the litter tray stays clean throughout the day, fresh water is always available, and I can spot any changes in behaviour or appetite early. For cats on medication or special diets, two visits a day are especially important.
What You Can Expect During Each Visit
Feeding, Fresh Water, Litter Tray Care, And Attention
Each visit follows your cat’s established routine. I prepare meals according to your instructions, refresh water bowls, and clean and replenish the litter tray. If your cat enjoys being brushed, played with, or simply sitting together, I make time for that too.
For cats on prescription diets or those who need medication, I follow your exact guidance. I will go over all of this during the meet and greet so nothing is missed.
Daily Photo And Video Updates Through The K9 Time App
After every visit, I send a report through the free K9 Time app. This includes photos, short video clips, and a summary of how your cat has been.
You will know what they ate, how they seemed, and whether they were feeling playful or preferred a quiet session. These updates go straight to your phone, giving you peace of mind wherever you are.
Extra Help Around The House While You Are Away
My pet sitting visits double as a home check. I bring in the post, water your plants, and take out any rubbish that needs to go. Regular visits to your Endcliffe home help it look occupied, which adds a layer of home security while you are on holiday.
These small tasks are included as part of the service at no extra cost.
Why Endcliffe Cat Owners Trust Me With Their Home And Cats
40 Plus Years Of Cat Care Experience
I have spent more than 40 years caring for cats, including cats of different ages, breeda, and temperaments. That experience means I can quickly pick up on subtle changes in a cat’s behaviour, appetite, or mood.
Whether your cat is a confident, sociable type or a timid rescue who needs patience, I have worked with them all. Cat care is not one-size-fits-all, and my approach reflects that.
NarpsUK Membership, Insurance, And DBS Check
I am a member of NarpsUK, fully insured, and DBS checked. These are not just boxes to tick. They are there to give you complete confidence when handing over your keys and trusting me in your home.
Being a professional cat sitter means being accountable, transparent, and properly qualified. I take that responsibility seriously.
My Calm Approach For Anxious, Shy, And Senior Cats
As a Usui Reiki Master, I carry a calm, grounding energy into every visit. This is not something I impose on your cat. It simply means I naturally bring a quiet, steady presence that many cats, particularly anxious, shy, or senior ones, find reassuring.
Cats pick up on energy quickly. A rushed or loud approach puts them on edge. My visits are unhurried and gentle, and I let your cat set the pace. For older cats with reduced mobility or those who startle easily, this calm approach makes a real difference.

How The Free Meet And Greet Works
I offer a free 30-minute meet and greet with no obligation. I will come to your home in Endcliffe, meet your cat, and chat with you about their routine, personality, and any specific needs.
This visit is as much for your cat as it is for you. It gives them a chance to see me in their space before any sitting visits begin, which helps reduce anxiety when the time comes.

During the meet and greet, I will ask about feeding schedules, food preferences, any medical needs, litter tray location, and your cat’s temperament. I also need to know about any house alarms, key arrangements, and your emergency contact details.
The more I know, the smoother the visits will be. I make notes on everything so your cat’s care is consistent from the very first visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a cat sitter typically charge per visit or per day?
My cat sitting visits in Endcliffe start at £14 for a 15-minute visit and £20 for a 30-minute visit. With a typical schedule of two visits per day, daily costs range from £28 to £40 depending on the visit length you choose.
What services are usually included in a cat sitting visit?
Every visit includes feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning and replenishing, playtime, and cuddles or quiet companionship. I also send photo and video updates through the K9 Time app and can help with tasks like collecting post and watering plants.
How do I find a reliable, insured cat sitter locally?
Look for a cat sitter who is fully insured, DBS checked, and a member of a recognised professional body. I hold all three credentials, including NarpsUK membership, and I offer a free 30-minute meet and greet so you can judge for yourself before committing.
Can a cat sitter administer medication and handle special diets?
Yes. I care for cats on prescription diets and those who need medication. During the free meet and greet, I go over all medical and dietary instructions in detail so I can follow your routine exactly.
How many visits per day does a cat need while I’m away?
I typically recommend two visits per day for most cats. This keeps feeding times consistent, ensures the litter tray stays clean, and gives your cat regular human contact. Cats who need medication or extra reassurance may benefit from longer 30-minute visits.
What should I provide at home to help my cat settle with a sitter?
Leave out your cat’s usual food, treats, and any medication with clear instructions. Make sure the litter tray is accessible and that I have spare litter. A note with your cat’s favourite toys, hiding spots, and any quirks helps me provide the most comfortable care from day one.
